This policy covers the blueshiftunlimited.com website and the Blueshift software, both from Blueshift Unlimited LLC. We collect very little, we don't sell or rent any of it, and we don't use it for advertising.

The website
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser, and device type. Nothing is collected through Google Analytics until you click Accept on our cookie banner, and you can decline. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Like any website, our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) records standard request logs, which can include your IP address.
When you buy
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We receive your name, email address, billing city, state, postal code and country, and your purchase details, and we use your email to send your license key and to contact you about your license. Stripe's handling of your data is described in Stripe's Privacy Policy.
The software
Activation: when you activate Blueshift, it sends your license key and a hardware fingerprint to our license server. The fingerprint is a one-way, hashed code derived from your Windows installation. It can't be reversed, and it isn't a serial number or network address. We keep a record of your license, your email, the fingerprint of the machine it's activated on, and a log of activation attempts, so we can manage activations.
After activation: Blueshift checks your license on your own computer each time it starts, with no network call.
Update check: when you click the update button, Blueshift asks our server whether a newer version is available. It sends only the version numbers of the program and its reference data. No license key, email, or machine information goes with it.
Everything else stays home: your FITS files, your catalog, and your imaging log live on your computer and are never sent to us or anyone else.
Your choices
You can decline analytics cookies on our banner, or clear them in your browser at any time. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by writing to info@blueshiftunlimited.com. Deleting your license record means that license can no longer be activated.
Blueshift and this website aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
